THEY WON'T BE TINY FOREVER

You want to photograph your baby every moment. Although most parents are constantly photographing their baby with camera phones having professional photos can be an amazing addition to remembering these precious moments. The lighting and details that come out with a professionally shot baby portrait in studio really bring your baby to life. In addition, having a few beautiful prints on display in your home will invite the compliments and conversations you want to have about your baby. Whether still in their diapers or years later as they are starting grade school, college or getting married, you will enjoy your baby photos for years to come.

All my sessions include one matted and mounted fine art baby print ready for display in your home with additional images available for purchase.

Tips

6-12 Months

At about 6 months your baby will be grabbing for toys, laughing, responding to their name and even sitting up! This is a great age and one of my favorite to photograph. If your baby is not yet sitting up, wait a few weeks until that is possible. Between 6-12 months is the best time-frame to bring your baby in to photograph. They will be interactive, attentive and not quite mobile enough to cause too much trouble.

Pick their outfit

Pick a special outfit for your baby's first photo shoot. You might want to bring a couple of options in case one doesn't fit well. Focus on outfits with special meaning and with colors that match your home decor. Is your home filled with cooler colors like blues and greens? or warmer neutral colors like beige. Having colors that match your home decor will really help them fit in your home naturally.

Choose accessories

If you have a special blanket, toy or family heirloom, pack them too. Maybe you have a silver rattle or other keepsake from when you were a baby. Plain but textured blankets work great in photos, either in muted or bright colors, but avoid busy patterns if you can.

Bring a happy baby

You know your babies schedule. Try to bring them after a nap or feeding when they are most likely to be happy and playful. My baby sessions are typically Sunday mornings between 8 and 11.

Back in November I was looking to get some portraits done for graduation and business needs. After evaluating my options in the area, I went with Jared Wolfe in Alexandria to get some nice in-studio portraits. I must say I am extremely happy with how my photos came out. Mr. Wolfe very professional, helpful, and insightful during my session. He made sure I was comfortable and ensured we were taking all need precautions in regards to COVID.He took a variety of shots and worked with me to get the best pose, look, and ultimately choice selection for the final photos. Though I think most examples show his professional headshots, he also does very great graduation portraits!I now have some of the best photos I have ever had taken in my entire life and that is all thanks Mr. Wolfe.
